Head of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Research Programme
Johanna Calderon is a lead scientist and head of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Research Programme at INSERM U1046 (PhyMedExp), University of Montpellier. She holds a PhD and two postdoctoral fellowships, including one at Harvard University (Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital), where she collaborated with international leaders in neurodevelopment and congenital heart disease. Her work focuses on the impact of congenital heart disease on neurodevelopmental outcomes and mental health across the lifespan — including executive function, attention, autism spectrum disorders, and anxiety — and on the development of cognitive interventions. She was awarded an Excellence Chair at the University of Montpellier, the L'Oréal-UNESCO Award, and the Medicine Prize from the Chancellery of the Universities of Paris. Within QUALIREHAB, she leads neuropsychological assessment, cognitive training, and the QUALINEUROREHAB sub-programme.
