Prof. Riccardo Pfister

Riccardo Pfister is Head Physician (médecin-chef) of the Department of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Care at HUG and Full Professor at the University of Geneva. He trained in medicine and paediatrics in Switzerland and completed a PhD in neonatology at Monash University, Australia, before joining HUG in 1998. He served on the committee of the Swiss Society of Neonatology for over 15 years, including four as its president, and currently directs the Swiss neonatal resuscitation programme 'start4neo,' which trains more than 3,000 healthcare professionals annually. His research focuses on perinatal adaptation, neonatal resuscitation, and developmental care for premature infants.
